Double Denim
I wrote about this concept over on my personal site a while ago. It should always be style over fashion. Double denim has hangovers from the Seventies, then the Eighties and so on and so forth. When it is done right, denim is one of the best ever fabrics to experiment with. I’m a firm believer that you should buy your denim, no matter the shade, without fancy washes, factory created distress textures or pre-fabricated holes or tears. As a fabric, denim ages with you and tells part of your life story. Good denim ages beautifully.
Layering new indigo denim over properly, naturally aged vintage denim creates a contrast that is both credible and incredible. Look at that texture – it’s not fashion, it’s style! Accessorise as you see fit. Don’t be afraid of experimenting. While denim seems to be frowned upon by certain sections of society, if you choose correctly and dress it up properly, it is sartorial. There is no argument.
